Jepak rep urges Muslim unity to safeguard peace

BINTULU: Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip has called on the Muslim community in the region to prioritise unity and protect the prevailing peace and order.

He stressed the utmost importance of unity, cooperation and tolerance to preserve peace, harmony and political stability while guarding against any divisive elements.

Describing the people in the country, especially the Muslim community, as fortunate to live in peace, he pointed out the need to uphold and protect unity, considering the prevalence of division in many other Muslim nations.

Expressing happiness and pride at the high number of participants in the Al Quran Recitation competition here, he commended the positive response.

Talib expressed hope that the participants would enhance their reading quality, reflecting the worthiness of Bintulu’s representatives to compete at the next level.

Looking forward to the upcoming competition, Bintulu District Officer, Muhammad Dino Amid urged participants to focus on recitation quality to qualify as representatives for Bintulu in the subsequent stages.

He also extended gratitude for the generous donations from Asean Bintulu Fertilizer (ABF), Baitulmal, Tabung Haji, PMB Silicon, and private donors.

The competition took place at Surau Darus Assyakirin Kampung Assyakirin Phase 1 on Wednesday and Thursday (July 26-27), attracting 17 participants.

Present at the event were Ustaz Dzulhazdri Japar Shedik, the religious officer at the Bintulu Division Islamic Religious Department, and Temenggong Rosli Kamarudin, the Bintulu Division Islamic Activities Committee secretary.
