MIRI: The Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) will be organising a blood donation campaign on Jan 3 next year.

It will be held at the first floor, new wing of Bintang Megamall here from 9am to 1pm.

NSJA president Andy Jong Wan Joon said this will be the association’s fifth blood drive since 2019, and its third time cooperating with Shun Shen Lee Trading Sdn Bhd.

“The campaign is our initiative to raise public awareness of the importance of donating blood and that replenishing the blood stock is one of the voluntary works that the public could do to help others.

“Miri Blood Bank needs a stable stock of various blood types to prepare for any emergency, especially during festive seasons and we are happy to contribute to the noble cause,” said Jong.

Jong, who is also the campaign’s organising chairman, also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, namely Shun Shen Lee Trading Sdn Bhd, Regal Marketing & Trading Sdn Bhd (Indocafe), Maestro Swiss Trading (Vico), Bintang Megamall Miri as well as collaborating bodies — Miri Hospital, Miri Blood Bank, Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Chapter and Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 6.
