Naah, it’s like plunging into a pot of boiling water: PRS Women chief

KUCHING: No amount of wedge-driving can break up Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), said Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women chief Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie.

“The solidarity in GPS is rock solid to be shaken by any propaganda machine of PKR,” Doris said in response to reports claiming GPS members would join PKR Sarawak.

Doris was responding to a Wednesday statement by Sarawak PKR information chief Desmond Kho who “acknowledged rumours that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) members are considering joining the party”.

She said in “putting Sarawak first” GPS has a very clear objective that no Malaya-based party, including PKR, could offer.

“Besides, we aren’t so stupid as to jump into a pot of boiling water,” she said.

Asked to elaborate, she said the whole of Pakatan Harapan (PH) is like a pot of boiling water and that in no time the members will be running away to save their skin.

“Why would GPS members want to jump into a pot of boiling water and get scalded or even cooked alive?” she asked.

Doris went on to say that all GPS top leaders are occupied with bringing about development to Sarawak and its people.

“GPS leaders don’t eat and sleep politics and politicise every issue. We plan and implement development policies because we know our people still need a lot of help from this government.

“The GPS government on its part wants to deliver, which is why we have been reaching out to all Sarawakians throughout the length and breadth of the state, telling them not to be fooled by the promises of outsiders.

“We have seen what happened when Malaysians fell for promises in GE14, yet until now none of the promises has been fulfilled. Fuel price does not come down and there is still no 20 percent oil royalty.

She said no right-minded Sarawakians can be fooled, and especially not for the second time.
