TATAU: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) along with Tatau police’s K9 units have been roped in to intensify the search and rescue (SAR) efforts to locate 52-year-old Juong Emok, who was reported missing near Rh Kanyan Kenyarai since Mar 29.

A spokesman for Bomba said the search operation has entered its fifth day yesterday and it has involved extra manpower to assist in finding the victim.

As at press time, the victim is still yet to be found.

The search involving 99 rescuers from Bomba, police, Civil Defence Force (APM) and four longhouses, covered around the logging camp, river and the victim’s longhouse.

On Mar 29, Juong was said to have left the house to go to his farm and failed to return home until today.

A search party by the victim’s families was carried out but to no avail. The family then lodged a missing person’s report on Apr 1 for further search assistance. On the first day of the operation, rescuers only found the victim’s bag and slippers.
