Kabong rep visits rural site projects

KABONG: Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir visited two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) site projects in his constituency recently.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the visit was also to attend a briefing on the RTP performance report by the Public Works Department (PWD).

He first visited the construction project site of the Metang Disa Surau worth RM1 million, which is implemented by Crest Realty Sdn Bhd and scheduled to be completed  in February 2023.

Even though the project has been delayed due to several factors, it has currently reached a completion status of 52.31 per cent.

Upon completion, the surau is expected to accommodate a congregation of 120 people at one time.

Chee also visited the construction  site  of the Kabong Community Hall which is worth RM5.5 million and is currently in the process of applying for site approval.

He was also briefed by PWD on several RTP projects that are yet to commence and categorised as sick projects.

Among those projects are the construction of the Muruh Sports Centre Kabong, the Rh Bundan Kabong boat terminal, the Sg Pangey, Gerigat boat terminal and the Kampung Emplam boat terminal.

The said projects will be listed for a revoting session while the projects categorised as sick projects are the new construction of Rh Luang Kabong Bridge and the construction of the concrete jetty at Kampung Hulu Lintang.
