KAPIT: The refurbishment project for Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Nanga Oyan will be carried out under the 13th Malaysia Plan under the Ministry of Education.

Baleh assemblyman Nicholas Kudi Jantai said the school was initially included in the RM1 billion school upgrade project but was subsequently dropped.

To address this, Nicholas Kudi is reaching out to Hulu Rajang MP and Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong for support in facilitating the school’s refurbishment.

He revealed this during his official visit to Baleh, specifically at Rumah Unting in Nanga Sekeroh Tengah, Sungai Oyan, Kapit, yesterday (Apr 16).

During this visit, he also inspected longhouses at Rumah Jimmy Jarau and Rumah Rumpun in Nanga Sekeroh Tengah, Sungai Oyan here.

On the issue of longhouses relying on solar power, he explained that electricity supply from the town should reach the longhouses.

However, obstacles arise when landowners resist the installation of electric poles or demand high compensation.
