KUCHING: Karaoke centres to reopen tomorrow.

However, this strictly applies to only those in shopping malls closed-door karaoke rooms.

Chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH) had refined the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the reopening.

“This doesn’t apply to pubs, nightclubs and bistros,” he said during a Covid-19 press conference at the Old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Building.

SDMC announced that all nightclubs, pubs, karaoke outlets and reflexology centres were ordered to close starting last Oct 28 until further notice.

In another announcement on Nov 27, SDMC said the entertainment sector which includes nightclubs, pubs, karaoke outlets and reflexology centres across the state are still not permitted to operate during the recovery movement control order (RMCO).
