KUCHING: The Demak Laut constituency’s Human Development Classes (Kelas Bina Ihsan or KBI) will be strengthened by an annual grant of RM5,000.

Its assemblyman Datuk Dr Hazland Abg Hipni lauded KBI’s contributions to the community, highlighting their success in organising religious programmes including funeral management courses, Quran recitation, and tilawah Quran.

“The 10 KBIs in Demak Laut are expected to broaden their outreach with these funds, enhancing religious and educational offerings in the area.

“These initiatives are crucial for enriching religious practices and guiding our youth. It’s essential that such programmes continue,” he said during the Tilawah Quran Ceremony at Kampung Muara Tebas KBI today (Dec 31).

The ceremony saw participation from 75 members across five KBIs: KBI Kampung Muara Tebas, KBI Kampung Selabat, KBI Kampung Goebilt, KBI Kampung Sungai Bako, and KBI Kampung Bako.

The constituency hosts 10 KBIs in total, including KBI Kampung Senari, KBI Kampung Bako Lot, KBI Kampung Mesra Bako, KBI Kampung Muhibbah (Seberang Pending), and KBI Kampung Bako Hijrah.
