Pang visits and supports traders at a Ramadan Bazaar in Bintulu.

BINTULU: Ramadan bazaar traders are reminded not to raise food prices throughout this holy month.

Instead, they should sell food at reasonable prices, said Tanjung Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.

He believes that if food or beverage prices are too high, it will scare away customers and affect businesses.

“Ramadan is a good day and a good month…we should be kind to others (buyers). Don’t exploit Ramadan by raising food prices.

“Traders should maintain cleanliness in their environment and food when conducting business throughout the holy month, ” he said, when met by reporters after inspecting and distributing the schedule for breaking fast and dawn meals to the public at the Ramadan Bazaar, in front of the NU Hotel today.

Accompanying him were Pemanca Awang Merais Pengiran Ismail; head of Assyakirin Village Phase 1, Pengiran Hamdan Pengiran Kerta; head of Assyakirin Village Phase 3, Mohidi Drahman; head of Jabai Village, Johny Jimon, and members of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bintulu branch.
