King proud with Sarawak’s progress

KAPIT: Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah felt proud and surprised with development in Sarawak during his visit to the state last Wednesday.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said his Majesty was not supposed to speak during Friday prayers at Darul Hana Mosque on Friday.

“However, his Majesty has asked to speak and said how proud he was with the people of Sarawak for being able to live in peace and harmony.

“For that we must defend the situation and continue to practise respect each other, live in peace and harmony and uphold the prevailing harmony,” he said.

Abang Johari also pointed out that Sarawak needs to be development according to its own ways.

“Follow our own ways. If we follow Semenanjung, it will be difficult because over there they always quarrel among themselves,” he added.
