SIBURAN: Following excessive rains throughout the whole of yesterday morning in Kampung Simpok, the village here got inundated by floods.
A spokesperson from the Bomba Squad in Simpok, Alice Luna Bala said that only some areas were affected by the downpours.
She said that the continuous rains caused the water to rise.
“For now, there is no evacuation of the residents made,” she added after being contacted yesterday.
Earlier this month, a temporary relief centre (PPS) in SK St Peter Simpok was made to accommodate 158 flood victims.
Due to the continuous rain, the water has increased to around ankle deep.
Meanwhile, the nearest village Kampung Mundai opened up a temporary relief centre in Kampung Mundai Hall to place 35 flood victims.
Both PPS were closed on February 4 after the waters had subsided.
