KUCHING: Kuching Connections Toastmasters Club (CTMC) will meet tomorrow at Homestay Hotel, Jalan Ellis, here at 7.30pm.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organisation which provides a platform for the members in training on public speaking, effective communication and leadership skills. The meeting is open to the public.
“In the club, participants can learn and progress in a supportive learn-by-doing environment that allows you to achieve your goals at your own pace.” said Vincent Chai, president of the club..
A typical Toastmasters meeting will have members doing prepared speeches. Evaluation and feedback will be provided to encourage speakers to improve further. There will be an impromptu speaking session, known as TableTopics which allows audiences to come on stage and speak 1-2 mins based on the topics given.
The theme of tomorrow’s meeting is “Together, We Make It Better”.
The Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) is ACS ALB Thomas Teng. He is the Immediate Past President of the club and currently serves as Division Director in Division D, District 87.
The club entrance fee is RM10.00 per person inclusive of light refreshments. The meeting is held on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at Homestay Hotel at 7.30pm.
