Lecturers visit Mukah Polytechnic to enhance ties

MUKAH: A total of 15 lecturers from Vocational College (KV) Sibu conducted a benchmarking visit to Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) to strengthen collaborative ties, recently.

The lecturers comprising Department Heads and Unit Heads led by Quality Assurance chief Ling Tiong Yung, were welcomed by deputy director of Academic Support at PMU, Sophian Sout.

According to PMU’s statement, the visit aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange to enhance expertise in their respective fields.

“Not only that, both institutions could share knowledge and experiences with each other.

“Furthermore, this serves to foster closer relations between the two institutions, as well as improve institutional management through quality supervisory procedures.

“This is in accordance with the ISO 21000 Standard for Educational Organisation Management Systems (EOMS) in implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS), Risk Management, Management Review, and the implementation of a conducive Public Sector Ecosystem (EKSA),” the statement said.

The visit was also seen as a mechanism to stimulate mutual growth between PMU and KV Sibu, encouraging greater enthusiasm to enhance each staff member’s personality, image, and quality of work.

In line with this, they also observed aspects of providing and researching quality documents, input preparation and management review reports, ISO 21001:2018 audit processes, as well as the management of special needs students.

The delegation also visited the Department of Electrical Engineering, General Studies Department, Mathematics, Science and Computer Department, Student Affairs and Development Department, Quality Assurance Unit, Resource Centre Unit, and Examination Unit.
