Local charity event attracts 2,000

KUCHING: A ‘Charity Bundle Day and Kuching Culture Vol. 2’ event on Saturday attracted more than 2,000 visitors.

The event, held at Pasar Seni, Jalan Haji Taha here from 10am to 10pm, was organised in collaboration with Kuching Rukun 13 Welfare Association, PBB Satok Youth wing, Satok Bureau of Economy and Pasar Seni Jalan Haji Taha management team.

PBB Satok Bureau of Economy chairman Dzamaluddin Zainudin said the event was held to expose the Pasar Seni to the public.

“We want to put the Pasar Seni on the map in Kuching so that it becomes a tourist attraction and can attract more visitors in the future,” he explained.

Programmes featured during the event included a charity flea market organised by Sukarelawan Jalanan and an autoshow meet and greet event by the ‘Static Crawlers Community’.

The charity flea market was participated by 260 stall owners while the auto show featured local and imported brands.

Dzamaluddin said the event would be held annually starting this year while Pasar Seni Jalan Haji Taha would also host various programmes every month to attract customers and visitors.
