KAPIT: Narcotics police arrested a local man on suspicion of being involved in substance abuse on Tuesday (Sept 19).
The 20-something suspect was spotted in suspicious circumstances by a police team conducting crime prevention patrol around town.
Kapit police chief DSP Rohana Nanu said the suspect was detained for inspection around 2.35 pm.
“Initial urine test found that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine.
“The case is being investigated under Section 15 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries up to RM5,000 fine or up to two years in prison, upon conviction,” she said.
