Lorry attendant killed in Jln Pan Borneo collision

SELANGAU: A lorry attendant died from severe injuries following a two-lorry collision along Jalan Pan Borneo here, this morning.

The accident involving a fertilizer-laden lorry and a cement-laden lorry occurred near SK Sungai Sepiring around 6.20 am.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from the Selangau station were despatched to the scene.

On arrival, they found the attendant of the fertilizer-laden lorry lying by the roadside.

Paramedics confirmed that the victim, Micheal Nyanggai, 38, died at the scene. His body was handed over to the police to be taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the drivers aged 33 and 63, managed to escape with only light injuries.

Both of them were given first aid at the scene before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The team extinguished a fire on one of the lorries and carried out flushing works to clear the road of debris and oil spill.
