SARATOK: A man managed to escape unharmed after his Toyota station wagon suddenly caught fire near the Taman Mega intersection last Sunday (Dec 11).
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Saratok station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 7pm.
On arrival, they confirmed the incident and found the car on fire by the roadside.
The flames, which caused about 20 per cent damage, were quickly extinguished.
It was reported that the 49-year-old driver managed to get out of his vehicle and did not sustain any injury.
The team wrapped up the operation at 7.20pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
