Man fatally run over by unknown vehicle, found with severed face and broken limbs

SELANGAU: An unidentified man was found dead this morning (July 2) after being fatally run over by an unidentified vehicle along KM74, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu.

The horrific incident unfolded in the middle of the road, with the lifeless body of the man lying motionless in a pool of blood, his face gruesomely torn off and his limbs shattered.

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said they received a distress call from the public regarding a hit-and-run accident around 6.30am.

In response, a police team accompanied by the Civil Defence Force (APM) Selangau promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.

“The victim is believed to have been struck by an unknown vehicle travelling from Bintulu to Sibu.

“As a result, the victim, estimated to be aged between 20 and 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Regrettably, no identification documents were found on his person,” he said.

Taking immediate action, the victim was carefully placed in a body bag and transported to Mukah Hospital for post-mortem examination.
