MIRI: Police are investigating the cause of death of a local man, aged 32, who was found hanging from an oil palm tree inside an orchard in Sungai Balem, Niah, here on Sunday (Dec 18).
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said for the time being the case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR) case.
He said police received a report on the gruesome find around 10.11 am.
“The victim’s body was discovered inside an orchard belonging to his in-law,” said Alexson.
Initial investigation carried out at the scene revealed no foul play.
“The deceased’s personal belongings were intact,” he said.
Alexson advised the public not to speculate on the case as it may affect the investigation.
Individuals with any further information related to the incident have been urged to come forward to the nearest police station to provide information.
