KUCHING: A man lost his life following a fatal accident along Jalan Sultan Tengah last night (Nov 23).
The accident happened around 8.55 pm after the victim apparently lost control of his car and crashed into a tree by the roadside.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) identified the victim as Mohamad Hazir Binar, 44.
Firemen from Petra Jaya station was promptly deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency.
Upon arrival, they found the driver unconscious and pinned in his seat. The team then carried out extrication works to free the victim who was handed over to the emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) team at the site for emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Paramedics, who arrived shortly at the scene, confirmed that the victim had died at the scene and his body was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.
