KUCHING: A man was seriously injured in a crash involving a car and an oil tanker at KM15 Jalan Klinker, off Kuching-Serian Road yesterday.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the collision occurred at 9.40am.

“The tanker was heading towards Kota Samarahan from Serian while the sedan car was travelling in the opposite direction. The car then entered the opposite lane which led to the collision. The impact caused both vehicles to skid and land in ditches on opposite sides,” he said when contacted.

The driver of the car was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment while the truck driver managed to escape unharmed.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1)(A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
