MIRI: A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane flying from Kuala Lumpur to Miri made an emergency landing at the Miri Airport yesterday morning (Feb 11), due to a technical problem faced by the aircraft.

Flight MH2574 with 101 persons on board plus one infant made a quick landing at Miri Aiport around 11 am after suffering from a flap problem.

Minister for Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, when contacted, has confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

“I have received a report that there was a local standby due to aircraft technical (flap problem). All related agencies were alerted and on standby mode,” he said.

The flight’s original schedule was supposed to land at 11.10 am but actual landing was 11.44 am.

“The aircraft landed safely. The incident did not affect airport operations,” Lee said.
