UKM alumni visit Sarawak DUN building

KUCHING: The Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Medical Faculty alumni 1985 batch paid a visit to the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building on Friday (Feb 2).

The delegation was led by Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil who is also an alumnus of the faculty.

The visit was aimed to expose the alumni on the features and unique design of the DUN building which serves as an iconic landmark for Sarawak.

The group was welcomed by DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar in a brief ceremony at the ADUN’s lounge.

Asfia in his speech shared about the history of the Sarawak legislature which is the oldest law-making body in Malaysia along with the diverse Sarawak culture.

The delegation also visited the DUN meeting chambers where sittings take place for state legislative members.

Also present during the visit was DUN secretary Pele Peter Tinggom.
