KUCHING: Kuching Surimas Fans of Art, Dance and Music Association, in collaboration with Plaza Merdeka Mall, celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a fervour dedicated to promoting tradition, culture and the arts.

This event from Sept 22 to Oct 1 involved a partnership with the Kuching Association of Talent Development and Welfare of Special Needs (Katsn).

Together, they orchestrated a gifted art exhibition, captivating performances, and a medley of competitions, including lantern design, mooncake making, singing, colouring, and the highly anticipated Cheongsam competition.

Kuching Surimas Fans of Art, Dance and Music Association chairman Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok in a statement said, one of the festival’s highlights, the Cheongsam competition, featured 20 contestants of various races, aged between 6 and 12.

“These young talents showcased their grace and style with a simple catwalk and introduced themselves to the delight of their parents and the audience.

“The event provided a remarkable platform for contestants to display their beautiful and colourful Cheongsam attire,” he said.
