KUCHING: The Sarawak Midwives’ Association, in collaboration with the Nursing Division of Sarawak Health Department and with the support of Business Events Sarawak, hosted the International Midwives’ Conference 2023 (IMDC 23) at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre yesterday.

The conference was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

The conference aimed to acknowledge the contributions of midwives and their associations who have been providing exceptional services to women and families amidst the ongoing pandemic. It also provided a platform for midwives and nurses from different backgrounds to share knowledge, experiences, and innovations in reducing the cost of nursing and midwifery.

Participants shared their thoughts on the conference with New Sarawak Tribune.

“It is good for me to attend this program as I work in a remote area near Kapit and such opportunities are rare for me. It is an honour to be participating and reconnecting with former co-workers and acquaintances. I am eager to share my experiences with friends and also learn from the speakers.”
