Minister gets update on Kuching Barrage

KUCHING: Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin made a working visit to the Kuching Barrage today.

The purpose was to get an update on the barrage and ship lock operation and its performance on flood prevention for Kuching district.

He was also briefed on issues and challenges facing the management and operation of ship lock and barrage, in addition to being briefed on projects and studies for ship lock and barrage to be carried out.

Accompanying Lee during the visit were permanent secretary of the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS), Buckland Bangik; special administrative officer of the Ministry of Transport Sarawak, Teo Swee Ann; Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) acting controller Lt (Rtd) Ding Tiew Wong; and officers of MOTS and SRB.
