KUCHING: The National Unity Ministry is committed to exploring collaboration opportunities with Sarawak’s local newspapers to bolster the national unity agenda.

Its press secretary Dr Shatesh Kumar Sangar said such cooperation is crucial in providing exposure to Sarawak citizens on federal-level initiatives spearheaded by the ministry.

“We aim to secure cooperation in terms of local media coverage, including Suara Sarawak, to ensure that the exposure to activities organised at the state level can be disseminated to the public.

“Some of the collaborations that can be pursued include coverage of the ministry’s flagship programmes scheduled for 2024, such as the National Unity Week celebration and National Day,” he said.

He made these remarks after a courtesy visit to the New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak office here today.

The ministry, he said, had previously collaborated with the newspaper for coverage of events related to Malaysia Day and Independence Day.

“It is undeniable that Suara Sarawak has greatly assisted us in conveying information and the aspirations of the Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, who hails from this state.
