KUALA LUMPUR: The decision to lift the conditional movement control order (CMCO) in most states and districts nationwide will allow the business sector to reopen and stimulate domestic economic activities.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister (KPDNHEP) Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the decision would enable the continuation of ministry’s activities and initiatives such as the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM) and the Mega Sales Programme (PJM) launched in July apart from the Domestic Franchise Development Tour programme.

“The ministry will be actively promoting KBBM and PJM via the mass and social media to encourage manufacturers and entrepreneurs to produce many more quality products and services at reasonable prices,” he said in a statement today.

Nanta said KPDNHEP was also proud with the animation series, ‘Upin & Ipin – Barang Baik, Barang Kita’  (Episode 14) that was specially produced to promote KBBM and PJM, as it had recorded more than five million views on YouTube  last week.

He said the effort was an innovative approach of the ministry to promote the initiatives among the people including children.

Apart from that, he said all state KPDNHEP offices would also be conducting the same initiatives such as 2021 Back to School campaign, as a programme to assist victims of disasters, Foodbank for Institution of Higher Learning (IPT) students as well as monitoring and inspecting business premises.

On the postponement of cases under the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia, Nanta said an action plan had been established for implementation. – Bernama
