MIRI: Police have mobilised all available units to locate and arrest the suspects responsible for a recent spate of house burglaries which reportedly occurred in Hilltop Garden and Ocean Park, here.

Both incidents happened on Mar 21 between 3 am and 4.30 am.

“In this effort, we not only use the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), we also receive help from the General Operations Force (GOF) and the dog unit to efficiently locate the suspects responsible for the burglaries,” said Miri police chief  ACP Alexson Naga Chabu today.

He was talking to the press after attending the Miri level Royal Malaysian Police’s 217th anniversary  at the police headquarters here.

“Upon investigation of these two burglary incidents, it has been determined that three individuals were involved,” he said, adding that the suspects’ modus operandi was to target houses that lack adequate security features, as they are seen as easy targets.

“These suspects prey on homeowners who have not taken the necessary precautions to safeguard their property,” Alexson said.
