Tendai given a piggyback ride out of the forest after she was found by a LSD officer.

KAPIT: An elderly woman reported missing after failing to return home from collecting crops since Monday was found safe and sound yesterday afternoon (Jan 24).

Tendai Apat, 70, from Rh Samon, Nanga Entalawan, was found by a Land and Survey Department (LSD) officer around 3.30 pm.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said rescuers were dispatched to the scene, about 1km from the main road, to bring her back to her family.

Tendai did not sustain any serious injuries except for bruises on her legs.

Rescuers later took turns giving Tendai a piggyback ride as the challenging terrain made it difficult for the team to use a stretcher.

She was later handed over to the police at 5.45 pm for further action.

On Monday, Tendai is said to have used a longboat to go to a farm to look for crops at 7 am.

Since then, she did not return home and only the longboat she used was found tied at the riverbank.
