MIRI: There were long queues for those waiting for their turns to get immunised with the vaccine at Dato Permaisuri multipurpose hall jab centre (PPV)at Permyjaya here on Sunday (June 13).

As such this resulted in the congested situation at the centre.

Upon receiving public complaint, state Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin went to the PPV to look into the problem.

Lee, the minister in-charge of Miri Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC), said the congestion occurred due to some confusion amongst those getting inoculated pertaining to their appointments.

“Some are given appointment at 11 am and mid-day but they also came as early as 8 to 9 am; I have discussed with the medical personnel to improve the system and add in more canopies for scheduled waiting area,” Lee said.

He has also reminded all recipients not to come too early for vaccination.

“Come 15 to 30 minutes earlier will be sufficient, vaccination time is from 8 am to 8 pm,” Lee explained.
