BINTULU: The National Security Council (NSC) in Sarawak plans to increase its community training sessions to ensure statewide preparedness.

Its Sarawak director Mohammad Haffizie Putit said that the NSC’s future agenda includes intensifying charity-oriented training next year, particularly in critical areas of Sarawak, engaging local communities actively.

“Our plan includes five charity exercises for the next year, covering physical, tabletop, and community-based training.

“This increase aligns with the eight charity training sessions held this year, including today’s,” he told reporters after the Ex-Kidurong 2 Tabletop Charity Training Exercise organised by NSC Sarawak in collaboration with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd here recently.

The recent programme, featuring 34 agencies and 120 participants, aimed to evaluate the efficacy of standard operating procedures in compliance with NSC Directives Number 18 and 20.

Also present were PETRONAS Carigali’s Safety and Health Environment Senior Manager Khairul Za’im, Field Manager Miza Ahmad Zaidi, PDRM Kuching Headquarters’ Nixon Joshua, and Bintulu District police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit.
