JAKARTA: The state government is always ready to provide assistance to women entrepreneurs who are involved in small and medium businesses from Indonesia in investment cooperation with Sarawak entrepreneurs.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, entrepreneurs, especially from Sarawak and Kalimantan who are neighbours should see the potential and be brave  in international level investment collaboration.

“The Sarawak state government is ready to assist Indonesian entrepreneurs who are in collaboration with Sarawak entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and markets.

“At the same time, I urge Sarawak local entrepreneurs to look at other business opportunities. Sarawak is a resource-rich state and they should fully utilise the opportunities,” said Awang Tengah who is also Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development.

“Sarawak is one of the preferred investment destinations, and is ready to be the door to international markets.”

He said this at the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Chamber of Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs (Dewanita DUBS) and the Association of Indonesian Businesswomen (IWAPI) in Jakarta, yesterday.

Awang Tengah also advised women entrepreneurs not to miss using digital platforms in marketing their products.

“Use the full digital platform as the digital market is more widely accessible,” he added.

The agreement will witness Dewanita DUBS and Iwapi to collaborate in exploring new ideas, skills and business collaboration.

Also present at the event were the Consul General of Indonesia in Kuching Yonny Tri Prayitno; Sarawak Chambers of Commerce and Industry president Datuk Abang Karim Tun Abang Haji Openg; President of Dewanita DUBS Hajah Juita Drap and Deputy President of Iwapi Ira Sofwan.
