MP gets RM4.2 mil in federal allocations

KUCHING: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii has received a total of RM4.2 million in allocations from the federal government for expenditure in education, youth, community, health and welfare for his constituency this year.

Breaking down the allocation, the majority went to education initiative, with 64 per cent (RM2,684,980.29).

This is followed by youth/sports with 13 per cent (RM529,086), community/NGOs with 12 per cent (RM503,971), health with 6 per cent (RM254,000), and welfare with 5 per cent (RM228,016.71).

In a statement today, Dr Yii said he had released a 50-page ‘report card’ containing photos detailing the various plans, projects and services implemented in his constituency for voters and the public to read and review.

“This 50-page report card is full of pictures and captions, especially recording the various plans and projects implemented in my constituency over the year, as well as the welfare and community services,” he said.

The report card also recorded various activities of the service centre, including the SPM Power Preparation Workshop, Agro Madani, STPM Reward 2022/2023, SPM Reward 2022, Tertiary Education Assistant Fund for P195 Bandar Kuching, and the “No More Bets” Special Movie Screening.

“We never forget to thank all for the cooperation and strong support to us and our service team, which enabled the smooth execution of constituency affairs,” he added.
