KUCHING: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii paid a visit to a cancer-stricken patient at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on Monday (Dec 12).

Dr Yii said the patient had sought help from him during this tough time as he was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer, which has spread to other parts of his body.

The patient, 52, worked as a general worker at a wood factory near Bau. His wife is a housewife and they have four school-age children, with the youngest being 10 years old.

Due to the patient’s condition, Dr Yii said he was unable to consume any solid food thus only drinking milk for nourishment.

“A can of such specialised milk is very expensive and the family is poor and cannot work due to his sickness.

“So I visited him and handed over seven cans of the specialised milk to help them through this tough time and find ways to better help him even with his medical cost.

“We will do as much as we can to help him and family through this tough time,” said Dr Yii.
