MIRI: Miri Port Authority (MPA) held an Integrity Day to strengthen the culture of integrity among its employees in providing excellent service delivery to its customers.

The event attended by customers, suppliers and staff of MPA was officiated by MPA chairman Dato Paulus Palu Gumbang.

Talks on integrity and corruption were presented by Wan Mohamad Wan Drahman from Unit Integrity dan Ombudsman Negeri (UNION) Sarawak and Siti Norhafizah  Saban from Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) Miri.

In his remarks,  Paulus urged MPA to give full commitment to ensuring the best performance in all aspects and to ensure continuous improvement to its service delivery system.

He also handed over the International Business Review (IBR) Award 2023 to MPA General Manager, Serawa  Budol and the Management.

The award is the testament of MPA’s excellence in its service delivery.

MPA plays an important role in connecting the northern region of Sarawak to the rest of the world, providing services to oil and gas, timber, and palm oil, ship building and repairs and other industries.

As part of its vision to transform Miri Port into a world-class port by 2030, MPA has implemented its Strategic Development Plan —a blueprint to steer the port’s growth to year 2030 and beyond.

This plan includes the widening and deepening of the access channel to enable more and bigger vessels to pass through the channel and thus potentially turn Miri Port into a major transshipment hub, seamlessly facilitating the movement of cargo between East and West trade.
