KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is set to undertake a new road project, creating an entrance to Jalan Ensing Timur from the Jalan Datuk Tan Men Chong Junction in Batu Kawa, in the near future.
The construction plan for the two-lane road has been approved as part of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).
Council chairman Tan Kai stated that the primary goal of the project was to provide an alternate road access to alleviate traffic congestion at the entrance to Jalan Stapok Utara.
It is anticipated that the project will take several months to complete.
“The advertisement for this project was published on October 31, 2023, and the application period closed on November 20, 2023,” he said during a media briefing yesterday (Nov 1).
