MRP grants worth over RM800k handed out in Sebuyau

SEBUYAU: Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants amounting to RM841,000 were dished out to 42 recipients recently.

The cheques were presented by Sarawak Assistant Infrastructure and Port Development Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi at Dewan Pembangunan Sebuyau here.

The recipients were from Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Sebuyau, mosques, surau and churches as well as committees.

At the same time, Julaihi talked about the development that Sebuyau had undergone, and would be undergoing.

“The construction of the sea wall from Sebangan until Sebuyau, the Sebuyau/Lingga road, the Batang Lupar bridge, the construction of water tanks as well as booster stations for water supply and the upgrading of water supply.

“Housing projects are also underway. This developments will improve the standard of living in the area.”

Julaihi also handed out hygiene supplies such as hand sanitisers, donated by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit.
