MUKAH: Mukah has been chosen as the first location in Sarawak for the establishment of the Civil Defence Emergency Response Team-Community (CDERT-C).

The opening ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib on Thursday (June 23).

Hanifah believed that the CDERT-C would be of great help to Mukah folk in times of natural disasters such as floods, landslides and other disasters.

“Thank you to the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) for approving the establishment of the Civil Defence Emergency Response Team-Community at P213 Mukah Parliamentary seat.

“The establishment of this team also directly helps the APM to carry out its responsibilities more effectively during emergencies or disasters that require their services.

“With the training and courses provided to the community through this CDERT-C, those involved will be equipped with the knowledge and skills suitable to deal with disasters.
