KUCHING: A significant milestone has been achieved with the successful completion of the multipurpose hall construction project in Bako Tengah Village, marking a pivotal moment in the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) within the Demak Laut region, specifically in the Bako zone.

In his statement, Demak Laut assemblyman Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni stated that the multipurpose hall offers residents in the vicinity of Bako Village opportunities to maximise its utility by hosting activities such as courses, as well as sports like badminton and ping-pong.

“This infrastructure is poised to enhance the quality of human capital by promoting healthy activities and fostering community engagement.

“The diverse range of events and programmes envisioned for the hall aims to enrich the lives of the local population and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the community,” he said.

The Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability further added that the construction of the Kampung Bako Tengah multipurpose hall, valued at RM500,000, commenced in 2021 and reached completion in 2023.

“The state’s commitment to comprehensive development is evident through strategic investments in crucial sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agricultural support.

“The government aims to establish sustainable and inclusive growth, ensuring active participation and benefits for rural communities in the region’s overall advancement,” he said.
