MyICE grant applications open until May 31

MIRI: A total 50 slots under the Malaysian Incentive Community Empowerment (MyICE) programme this year are still available for organisations in Sarawak.

Thus, the Registrar of Societies is urging organisations in the State to apply for the MyICE grants before the closing date on May 31.

RoS Sarawak director Georgina Apphia Ngau said applications for the grants have been open from February 1 this year.

“Each successful applicant will be granted a grant of RM10,000, ” she added.

Every year, for Sarawak, the government allocates a total of grant of RM1million to help with the running of organisations besides promoting volunteerism and empowering community ties, she pointed out.

“Applications can be made by filling up forms at www.eroses.gov.my ,” Georgina added.

The MyICE is a grant initiative given to organisations registered with RoS under the categories of welfare, social, security and human rights.

She revealed that as of April 18 this year, RoS Sarawak had received a total 61 applications under the various categories.

Earlier , Georgina presented MyICE grants to Sarawak Cartography Club (SCC) and Persatuan Penduduk Long Atip Telang Usan Miri with each receiving RM10,000.
