BETONG: Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz has high hopes for his successor to continue the development agenda in the Kalaka state constituency.

According to the Kalaka assemblyman, he hoped his successor will continue to work closely with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in efforts to improve the infrastructure, socio-economy and education of the people in his constituency.

Currently, he said, Kalaka desperately needs a technical and vocational school to ensure that their young generation gets education and training which meets the needs of the job market.

“As we know, Abang Johari, a visionary who continues to develop Sarawak, is very mature in politics and has very extensive experience in the state administration.

“We can see his outstanding achievements as he heads the Ministry of Industrial Development and Ministry of Tourism.

“At the same time, Abang Johari, who is also the PBB president, is also very active in marketing various state tourism products to the international market.

“Therefore, I am very confident that he will be able to develop Sarawak, especially to achieve the status of a developed state by 2030,” he told our reporter.

In this regard, Abdul Wahab called on Sarawakians to continue giving their strong support to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

Meanwhile, Abdul Wahab, who is determined to step down from the political arena due to age, called on all residents in Kalaka to continue giving their undivided support to his future successor.
