Namlifa pledges to continue protecting public

SIBU: The National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisers (Namlifa) has pledged to continue ensuring the Malaysian public is adequately protected.

Its president G. Sassedaran said Namlifa will continue striving not just for business sustainability but also to ensure people are protected through life insurance and family takaful products and services.

It is also continuing to engage with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and other stakeholders, to help enhance the competency level of the agency force.

“At this juncture, I urge Namlifa members to upgrade their knowledge, skills and credentials through Namlifa’s accredited education programmes offered in the industry.

“I also wish to share with you another good news.  Namlifa is partnering with Kaplan, an international educational provider, to bring back the FCHFP (Fellow, Chartered Financial Practitioner) programme to Malaysia.

“This programme is amongst the most popular education programmes pursued by life insurance agents around the Asia Pacific region,” he said iat the 20th Akard Award presentation night here Saturday (Sept 30).

A total of 66 life assurance professionals and financial advisers from various insurance companies received the award at different levels ranging from Akard Personal Gold to Akard Mega Million Agency.

The Akard awards symbolise the highest honour in the Malaysian life insurance industry, representing professionalism, high quality services, excellent leadership, integrity and ethical standard of the recipients.

According to Sassedaran, Namlifa has walked a long way in establishing the Akard award as a local brand for agency business excellence.

He said the 20th Akard award has registered a national record of more than 2,700 awardees this year.

“This is certainly a good sign that the agency force is moving towards exellency and professionalism.

“While we represent the agency force as one voice that engages with the authority on matters related to the interests of the agency force, we too emphasise on professionalism and productivity,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sassedaran congratulated every Akard awardee, especially repeat awardees who qualify year in year out, who are truly an example of persistent hardworking star of the awards.
