KUCHING: Members of the Sarawak National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Samariang branch took 30 needy children shopping ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri today.

SABERKAS vice president Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali disclosed that the engagement was under the Cahaya Prihatin SEBERKAS Samariang 2022 programme.

“This programme was launched two years ago and it is up to the respective branches to decide what activities to carry out.

“We took 30 needy children to Boulevard Shopping Mall to purchase clothes for their Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. This is to bring more cheer to them for the upcoming celebration,” she said.

Besides this programme, the Samariang assemblywoman stated that various activities and programmes such as distribution of bubur lambuk have been organised in the month of Ramadan.

“SABERKAS is an active youth organisation throughout Sarawak and the Samariang branch does not want to be left behind. Thus, we organise various community and welfare activities as well as programmes like this,” she added.
