KUCHING: A new flight route from Bario (BBN) to Long Banga (LBP) is set to commence on Oct 29.

According to MASwings, it will also see enhanced services on flight frequencies for key routes such as Kuching to Limbang, Miri to Bario and Long Seridan, and Mukah to Kuching.

“The additional operations and introduction of the new route are part of MASwings’ ongoing business review and align with the ‘Hybrid Flexi 3.0 Network Plan’ aimed at route rationalisation.

“The changes have received approval from the Ministry of Transport (MoT) Malaysia through the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM).”

MASwings added that the network rationalisation of its domestic flight routes under the Public Service Obligation’s (PSO) is essential for the long-term success of the Rural Air Services (RAS) operations.

“This strategic move follows extensive business reviews and continuous dialogues with key stakeholders from MAVCOM, alongside the Sarawak and Sabah governments.

“These adjustments are designed to ensure that MASwings utilises its fleet at an optimum level while meeting the needs of the communities we serve.
