KUCHING: According to Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs, Chong Chieng Jen, the state’s Pakatan Harapan will announce the proposed ‘New Deal Agreement’ which will be brought to the special Cabinet committee to oversee the enforcement of Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) today.

“I can assure you that the deal will be much better than what Barisan Nasional (BN) has offered to Sarawak for the last 45 years,” he said during a press conference at the Democratic Action Party headquarters in Kuching yesterday.

For the record, PH Sarawak has made ‘New Deal Agreement’ offers to be inked between them and Sarawak BN during the 14th General Election to oversee the enforcement of MA63. However, Chong claimed the offers were rejected by the state government.
