PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad invited Sarawak and Sabah Cabinet members to Seri Perdana for his special Hari Raya open house here yesterday.

During the open house, the leaders of both states expressed their support for the Prime Minister. Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal stated that the Sabah government was committed to strengthening ties for the overall development of the state.

“There were no issues discussed. We spent some quality time together in the spirit of Hari Raya. In fact, we only discussed the delicious food,” laughed Sarawak Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg According to a source from Putrajaya, the presence of the two Chief Ministers and their respective Cabinet members was a great opportunity for Mahathir to hear the views of leaders of the two states and establish closer ties between the federal and state governments.
