KANOWIT: The Kanowit District Council (KDC) should take immediate action to repair the dilapidated Sedaya jetty, says Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana.

“The jetty is no longer safe for the public. It’s old and dilapidated.

“Following an inspection together with KDC recently, I have asked KDC to carry out immediate repair work.

“I also requested that the dilapidated jetty planks and pillars be replaced immediately for the safety of the public.”

In the meantime, Anyi explained that the jetty needed to be repaired immediately before the Sedaya Ferry Terminal construction project is implemented.

“The construction work is expected to be tendered in November 2023.

“The terminal will shorten the travel time for residents from the Jalan Nibong Tada area to Kanowit Town.”
