KUCHING: Non-governmental organisation (NGO), Hope Place has responded to a plea for assistance from a family in need after the sole provider suffered a stroke in Nov last year.

Enggu Sampar, 65, who is bedridden after he suffered a stroke, used to work at a factory. He was admitted to the hospital.

His spouse has been taking care of him ever since he was bedridden at home.

“With his youngest still in school, added medical expenses and rent, the family is currently in need of desperate assistance,” Hope Place said in a statement here yesterday.

Hope Place was informed of this situation by one of Enggu’s neighbours who is a mother of six children and also happens to be under the care of Hope Place.

The NGO also said that some of Enggu’s children and relatives support his family by providing provisions and financial assistance to pay some bills.

Hope Place is currently supporting Enggu by providing adult diapers and also basic necessities for his family.
