KUCHING: International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) head Datuk Dr Mustapha Ahmad Marican wishes for Sarawak to continue to prosper.

With Sarawak Day celebrated yesterday, he said he prayed that Sarawak would remain peaceful and the people would progress together as one.

“I believe under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is transforming the state by taking the lead of adopting technology, Sarawak will grow into a more developed state,” he told New Sarawak Tribune over WhatsApp.

He said the state’s unity and harmony, and its economy would also grow stronger.

“Because of the dedication of the Sarawak government, you are able to maintain the peace among the multiracial society.

“Congratulations, and Happy Sarawak Day to all,” he said.

On July 11, Mustapha visited Kuching and paid a courtesy call on Abang Johari. He briefed the Chief Minister on issues related to the release of 47 Malaysians detained at the Banteay Meanchey prison in Cambodia earlier in the year.
